He was born in Siracusa (Italy) in 1976. In 2003 he took the Degree in Physics at the University of Catania. The thesis was entitled "Sviluppo di una nuova methodica per la misura del coefficiente di assorbimento acustico per incidenza normale".
In 2007 he received European Doctorate in Sound and Vibration Studies (EDSVS) at the University of Ferrara. The thesis was entitled “Advanced experimental techniques for the description of rigid frame porous media”.
Part of the Ph.D. has been carried out at The Marcus Wallenberg Laboratory, Stockholm. He was working on the prediction of Transmission Loss and Radiation Ratio of sandwich plates by using FEM and BEM analysis.
His main research activities are devoted to
- Vibro-acoustics characterization of porous materials and experimental technique for their determination
- FEM and BEM modelling for the study of acoustical radiation and noise control;
- Acoustic Intensity.
